you were born to perform

Since forever that I can remember, I have wanted to be a performer.
I have always been amazed by singers — the lights, the glam, the power, the way they captivate thousands of people and change lives by simply doing what they were called to do.
I would stand in front of the TV and mimic the music videos, daydream about being those women, performing on my own stage.
I even used to charge my Mom’s friends to watch me lip-sync performances of my fave artists.
I went to bed every night just dreaming of being on the stage, staying up late Sunday nights watching award shows and wishing I didn’t have to go to school the next day.
It was so fascinating how these people were doing what they loved, showing up for the world to see, and going to an afterparty or back to the job versus having to sit in a classroom.
It took me years to realize that the inner performer in me was meant to be.
Her stage just looks a little different.
Bravery.
Vulnerability.
It’s still required.
Holding your breath as you release your work into the world.
Being humbled seeing it touch lives.
Thinking about your vision and dream every second.
Working on your craft every waking moment, dreaming about it while you sleep.
Praying that it reaches the people it needs to reach.
And it inspires and empowers those that it’s meant to.
These dreams on your heart are not meant for anyone else — I know it can feel that way.
You look around and find reasons as to why this CAN’T be true for you.
What if you could unapologetically live out those dreams — no judgement, no fears, no failure — just…what if?
If you could close your eyes and step into this reality, see it brought to life?
What is it going to take for you to believe this is meant for you?
For me, God himself could have come down and told me what I needed to hear and I still would have doubted it — that sounds insane right? Or maybe it resonates?
What will it take for you to finally accept the signs around you as enough?
To take the chance and believe in yourself, in your own heart?
To cultivate that relationship with yourself where you just go for it?
To finally…perform.
Unleash the diva that has always been within you.
You are ready — you have been ready. What will it take for you to finally believe that?
Sometimes…it’s just taking a deep breath and taking that first leap knowing the ground will appear to catch and support you. It will keep appearing every time you jump.
Because you are supported. And thankfully..you are YOU.
The world deserves to witness you.
